A Heartwarming End of Year: Fundación Ecuatoriana Elohim’s December 2024 Activities
The Fundación Ecuatoriana Elohim concluded 2024 with a heartfelt display of solidarity and love, bringing joy to hundreds of children and families across Ecuador.
Where the Napo River meets God’s love – 18 years of faithful service
Why This Matters for Ministry: Where rivers are highways, rainforest is neighborhood, and 51,000 souls need hope in one of Earth’s most biodiverse regions. We’re not just reaching communities – we’re reaching the gateway to the Amazon itself.
Jefferson Zurita & Family – Missionary Pastors «God called us to serve where the need is greatest. Every boat trip to these communities is a mission field.»
Deep in Ecuador’s Amazon region of Orellana, surrounded by mighty rivers and lush vegetation, stands our El Coca center – a refuge and source of hope for over 18 years. This is more than our home; it’s our operations center where God’s love flows out to the most remote communities.
Every week, we prepare provisions and travel to communities like the Quichua settlement of San Cristóbal, the sports field turned church in Toyuca, the welcoming children of San Bartolo, and the mestizo families of La Democracia. What makes each trip special isn’t just the food we carry – it’s watching hungry faces light up, knowing that this plate of food might be their first meal of the day, or perhaps their last.
In Toyuca, we’ve witnessed something beautiful: every Wednesday, a simple sports field transforms into a church, a meeting place where over 40 children and youth gather faithfully to dive deeper into God’s Word. This is where the Kingdom of God expands in the Amazon.
«They love God and His Word. It fills them with joy to share and learn together.»
Why Geography Matters for Ministry Unlike urban ministry, reaching these communities requires:
Each community represents hours of travel through some of the world’s most challenging terrain – but every journey is worth it when we see God’s love transform lives.
Quichua community at kilometer 7 of Vía Sacha Every week, we share God’s love with children and youth through every means at our disposal
Where miracles happen every Wednesday. A sports field becomes a church, a meeting place where 40+ children gather faithfully to learn God’s Word.
Kilometer 11 of Vía Lago Agrio 37 children receive meals here, their joyful faces welcoming us as they eagerly await God’s Word and the attention they desperately need
Mestizo community where hope is restored. Families finding strength and community through our weekly visits
Three years ago, we planted a church here – a warm, united community growing together and extending God’s kingdom
The Amazon’s beauty hides harsh realities:
Chronic malnutrition affecting 7 out of 10 children
School dropout rates exceeding 60% due to poverty
Medical Outreach In partnership with volunteer doctors from urban areas, we provide basic healthcare and hygiene kits to families in need.
Weekly Nutrition Program: Every weeks, From our El Coca center, we send provisions to communities where local mothers prepare meals, and youth serve their peers.
Community Development Teaching sustainable farming techniques and providing seeds and tools to help families become self-sufficient.
Youth Discipleship & Values Workshops We're raising up the next generation of leaders through Bible study, life skills training, and mentorship programs.
«Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…» – James 1:27
In the heart of the Amazon, children are waiting for your love to reach them. Families are praying for provision. Communities are longing for hope.
Your partnership doesn’t just feed bodies – it feeds souls.
