About ELOHIM ECUADORIAN FOUNDATION
Our Inspiration and Beginnings
The Fundación Ecuatoriana Elohim was officially established in April 2006 through Ministerial Agreement 0454 with the Ministry of Social Welfare in Ecuador, achieving legal status to receive donations and expand its impact.
Our story began when Daniel Mejía and a group of friends started feeding children from vulnerable families in the Comité del Pueblo neighborhood in Quito once a week. This initiative was not just about food — it was about nourishing both bodies and souls by sharing Christian values and hope. Witnessing the deep needs of children affected by poverty, violence, and family crises inspired the foundation to grow.
The project soon caught the attention of the community, and Daniel’s father, Pastor Alejandro Mejía, who had served as an evangelical pastor since 1994, stepped in to help expand the mission. With support from friends and volunteers, especially from the United States, the foundation grew in scope and resources.
Today, our headquarters are based in Quito, sharing property with the Evangelical Church Elohim, where our offices and volunteer training sessions are held.
